Shahi Tukde


                                              

INGREDIENTS:

1.     Meete ki bread- 1 loaf
2.     Mill- 1 ltr
3.     Sugar- 1 kg
4.     Khova – ½ kg
5.     Saffron color- ¼ tsp
6.     Pistachio- 50 gm
7.     Almonds- 50 gm
8.     Raisins - 50 gm
9.     Oil

METHOD:

  • Cook khova by adding a glass of water, keep stirring and see to it that it doesn’t stick to the base of the vessel.
  • Add 1 ltr water, saffron color to sugar and bring this to boil for 5 mins.
  • Boil milk and add khova and sugar syrup. Boil for 2 mins and keep it aside.
  • Remove the corners of bread and make slices. Cut the slices of bread diagonally.
  • Deep fry these slices till it turns golden brown. Drain the oil completely from bread. And add these fried slices to the milk. After frying all the slices and dipping in the milk, keep it on the stove and boil for 10 mins and put off the flame. Liquid still remains, it will dry when it cools down.
  • Shahi tukde is ready.
  • Garnish with almonds, pistachio and raisins.
